As members will know who have lived here and been on this group for any length of time, one of the main issues concerning our Inkerman Area is the planned development just to the north of our area, behind the houses and the police station in Holmes Rd.
This large area is called Regis Road. A developer called Yoo Capital has put forward plans for a very ambitious “Camden Film Quarter“. This includes an a colossal five story film studio, each floor being the size of a conventional film studio out in the country but stacked up five high.
It also involves a large number of other buildings, some tower blocks – commercial or residential. There are a number of what are described as affordable flats. There’s an even smaller number of actual council houses.
It would involve many years of work with associated construction traffic. Some of the planned block are built directly onto Holmes Rd and there are other serious concerns but it would change the nature of our area radically.
There’s too much detail to put into a WhatsApp message so it would be best if you surfed the website and saw the lengthy discussion ending with IARA’s submission to Camden. To represent the area with a mandate , this is based on the analysis of the survey that we did of our members
IARA’s submission to Camden regarding the application for developments on Regis Road. Submitted 10.3.26

There are strange but strict rules that restrict the right to lobby our local representatives once the committee agenda and the officers report is made public.
Camden council planners usually report in favour of developers no matter what the merits of the case and local opinion is.
If you wish to make your views heard, this need to be done before Monday. Any lobbying after that apparently compromises committee members and leave Camden open to legal challenge by the developer.
You will see that IARA’s views are not a simplistic objection to the whole project but quite a measured response to the various aspects of it. You may wish to pick up on any points that you would like to support.
And/or you could just point councillors to the submissions on this website.

If you are emailing any of those councillors, it would be helpful if you could cc us in.
