Two different planning consultations. Plus “Turning Black Friday into Green Friday”.
- Film Quarter planning application
This is about the main plans for the Regis Road area development.
Following our representations and support from two of our local councillors, Meric and Jenny, the deadline for comments on this very major application is now 19 December.
If you search Camden Planning applications and put in the application number: 2025/4861/P you can post comments. You can also email in after that date – planning@camden.gov.uk

- New consultation for Regis Road
There is a proposal for another large area of the Regis Road industrial site to be developed for housing.
They say:
“Local residents, businesses and stakeholders are invited to attend one of two drop-in events to view the emerging plans, speak to the project team, and share feedback:
Saturday, 29 November, 10:00 – 14:00 – St Patrick’s Primary School, Holmes Rd, London NW5 3AH
Tuesday, 2nd December, 14:00 – 18:00 – Greenwood Centre, 37 Greenwood Pl, London NW5 1LB
This is the first stage of public consultation. Feedback from these events will help shape a more detailed set of proposals, which will be presented at a second consultation next year before a planning application is submitted to Camden Council.”

3. Street Swap – New idea – to turn Black Friday into Green Friday on 28 November.
Transition Kentish Town has done a lot of interesting work locally in terms of creating and running green spaces and activities like the veg box scheme. https://www.transitionkentishtown.org.uk/
It is also connected with the very successful project of installing solar panels on local public buildings like schools and gyms with local investors https://www.powerupnorthlondon.org/
Their most recent initiative is encouraging people to challenge Friday 28 November, which historically was a sort of community event which did involve stocking up with preparations for winter but has now been turned into a complete consumer-fest.
They are attempting to reclaim the spirit by encouraging people to build on what is already something of a local tradition – leaving unwanted stuff out to be taken by anybody who would like it.
Their explanation:
“WHY BLACK FRIDAY? AND WHY SWAP INSTEAD OF SHOP?
Transition Kentish Town (TKT) invites you to join us in reclaiming some real start of winter Thanks Giving Spirit (of celebrating local resources, sharing local skills, and neighbours supporting one another through hard times) in Kentish Town. Think swapping, not shopping. Sharing our DIY repair and upcycling skills through the new Kentish Town Library Swap & Share Hub. And supporting our local Kentish Town repair services traders – to get through tough times and enjoy something that’s new to you – without it costing us the Earth (in all senses of the word!)
1) Put out your Street Swap items at 8.30am and encourage your neighbours to as well – and get swapping on your street.
2) Join TKT volunteers at 9.30am to help move good quality unswapped items from your street to a new Local Swap Stall in Kentish Town Library, alongside the Library of Things low cost borrowing centre there. A Veolia team will then scoop up anything that remains on the street for recycling – so no mess is left behind on the street.
2) Help run the SWAP STALL at the Library on its inaugural day. Sign up with Talulla for just an hour or for longer – email info@thinkanddocamden.org.uk
3) Or just head to the Library to continue swapping, hear about ways to upcycle stuff to extend its useful life through safe DIY – and get information on local traders who can supply repair and reuse skills, services and materials. We promise some warming food and drinks there on this special day.”
