Murphys development

We’ve had some feedback from you, and those who have looked in detail at the application have highlighted the fact that from most of the streets in the Inkerman area will have a view of the proposed towers, to the detriment of the Conservation Area. They will also be highly visible from the viewpoint on Parliament Hill.  Most people are unhappy with the height of the buildings and feel the site could be much better planned, giving the same number of units with less height.

Thanks to efforts by Kentish Town Road Action, and Cllr. Apak, the deadline for comments is now 21 February.  It would be good if those of you who have sent comments to us have also posted them on the Camden website – numbers of objections do count.

 A death in the neighbourhood

We are very sorry to report the death of Christine Tidmarsh, who for some years was a lively member of the Independent Elders of IARA.  Her neighbour Helen writes:

Christine has lived in Willes Road for around 25 years, and very much enjoyed the street and her neighbours. In her youth she was a fashion model who worked at Dior in Paris.  In recent years she had grown very frail and needed carers.  Collin, her permanent carer, could often be seen taking her out for walks in her wheelchair to the High Street, and local parks.  She died two weeks before her ninetieth birthday.
