Update 17 March

Some sad news …
Those of you who knew Pat Yeoman will be sad to learn of her death.  Pat was the longest standing resident of Alma Street, and well known to many of us.  She will be very much missed. Our condolences to her son, James.

HS2 – Camden HS1/HS2 link scrapped
Tonight’s Evening Standard – http://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/hs2-railway-link-from-northern-england-to-brussels-scrapped-over-impact-on-camden-9197199.html announces that the government is to scrap the link from Old Oak Common through Camden to St. Pancras! No details yet but it looks like a victory for common sense.  But it still means devastation in the area north of Euston.
Street Fair 2014
Thanks to some new faces on the summer fair committee, and in particular Peter Haden who has agreed to chair and to be the main organiser this year, the 2014 Alma Street Fair will go ahead.  The date of the Fair will be Sunday 27 July – do put it in your diaries now.  As usual, we will need lots of help on the day.  In particular, we need stewards to help direct people, give out information and make sure we keep everything running smoothly, we need people to help set up and clear away on the day, people to help sell raffle tickets, put up bunting and generally contribute.  Please email if you can help – and/or if you would like to join the planning committee (next meeting this Wednesday evening).
