As some of you will know from our earlier emails, the site until very recently was owned by Bird and Davis, the art supplies shop and workshop which backs on to numbers 20 – 25 Inkerman Road and part of Azania Mews, and is now sold and to be redeveloped.
A small group of us have met with the architects, and seen their preliminary proposals for the site. They will be applying for planning permission for a mixed commercial and residential development, up to 4 storeys in height. There will be a slightly larger amount of workshop space, about 14 flats and 3 family size houses, some of it social housing.
The proposals are quite reasonable, but obviously will have an impact on the neighbouring houses and flats.
The architects are keen to consult with affected people, and seemed very receptive to initial ideas and feedback from residents.
They will be holding a public exhibition, probably on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th February, in the afternoon and early evening.
If you would like any more information meanwhile, and are not on our mailing list, please get in touch by emailing email@example.com so that we can include you in future mailings.
